GWR: Five Get There First

As the lead producer, I played a pivotal role in delivering GWR’s latest campaign with adam&eveDDB, bringing the Famous Five back to screens for their first new adventure since 2020. This 60-second TV spot, Five Get There First, highlights the speed, comfort, sustainability, and social benefits of train travel in a lighthearted race to the beach.

The story juxtaposes the smooth journey of the Famous Five aboard a GWR train against the chaotic car ride of Uncle Quentin and Aunt Fanny. Through humorous storytelling, the ad celebrates the unique experience of rail travel, aiming to inspire audiences to rediscover GWR’s beautiful South West and South Wales destinations.

This integrated campaign also featured out-of-home placements, press, digital content, and influencer collaborations to uncover hidden gems on GWR’s network, amplifying its impact. As a producer, I coordinated across creative, account teams and directly with the GWR’s marketing team to deliver a standout campaign that reaffirms the joys of train travel.

My Role

In this project, I managed a range of responsibilities, including keeping stakeholders informed at every stage, managing budgets, and securing necessary licenses. I oversaw initial character development, collaborating closely with the creative team and animators—a process that required a deep understanding of technical details to bring the Famous Five to life seamlessly. I also worked hand-in-hand with the Director to ensure alignment on the campaign’s vision and execution. Additionally, I led client presentations alongside the account management team, ensuring their expectations were met and their goals reflected in the final product.
